Vinca Major is a pretty evergreen sub-shrub which is perfect for growing in difficult spots, tolerating full shade. The Greater Periwinkle is a vigorous cultivar, spreading by long shoots that root as they touch the ground. Its foliage is comprised of glossy dark green, ovate leaves. Its upright stems form in clumps, supporting single violet-blue flowers. The pretty blooms open in spring and can last until autumn. A fantastic choice for a border, bed or rockery where it will have space to spread, acting as groundcover and suppressing weeds.
